Animal Madness

Students will tour the aquarium with an aquarist to learn in depth about the animals that live in the ocean, and how they differ from one another. Students will explore the different types of animals in Exploris (Mammals, Reptiles, Birds, Amphibians, Fish and Invertebrates) through interactive activities which will focus on the key characteristics of each group. The Tour will culminate in a 20 minute classroom session where the children will complete a workbook based on what they learned and saw during the tour. Workbooks will encourage students to identify the animals they have just encountered and identify how they move, eat and breathe in different ways. We aim to get children excited about the amazing animals that live in our oceans, and allow them to begin to understand how the animal kingdom is made up.
