NI Science Festival

NI Science Festival

Event days 15th, 16th, 22nd and 23rd February 2020.

Two workshops will take place over the 15/16 & 22/23 February based around “Our Resourceful Ocean”.

“Solution to Pollution”

Revisiting a favourite from last year’s science festival we will be wowing our visitors with an alternative water bottle made out of seaweed!  Find out how innovative companies are looking to tackle our plastic waste problem through the use of alternatives materials

“Ocean currents”

Learn How our currents dictate our climate and why are our winters so mild compared to New York. Learn about the importance of ocean currents with hands on experiments creating these ocean pathways.

Ocean currents are the key driving force behind everything on our planet, controlling everything from our climate to where certain animals can live. Come and learn how these currents work and why they are so important at Exploris. We will combine hands on experiments with informative staff to help you understand ocean currents, and even create your own. Learn how animals ‘hitchhike’ in ocean currents, and what can happen if something goes wrong.
