Exploris Seal Sanctuary is pleased to confirm the successful release of Zazu, who was safely returned to the sea at Knockinelder Beach on Tuesday 30 December, following several weeks of dedicated care and rehabilitation.
Zazu was admitted to Exploris Seal Sanctuary after requiring support and monitoring from the expert animal care team. During his time at the sanctuary, he received specialist rehabilitation to ensure he was fit and ready to return to the wild.
The release marked the culmination of weeks of careful preparation and assessment by the team, whose priority is always the welfare and long-term survival of the animals in their care. Once Zazu was deemed healthy and strong enough, Knockinelder Beach was selected as a suitable release location.
Exploris Seal Sanctuary would like to extend sincere thanks to everyone who attended the release and supported Zazu’s journey back to the sea. Community support plays an important role in wildlife rehabilitation and conservation efforts.
This successful release highlights the ongoing work of Exploris Seal Sanctuary in rescuing, rehabilitating, and returning marine animals to their natural environment.
